What is the consumption rate of Promacol®-K84/500 adhesive for Promatect®-H concrete upgrades?
When considering concrete wall and soffit upgrades, due to the nature of the installation of the Promatect®-H boards and the 100mm diameter dabs of adhesive on to concrete substrates that are required at each fixing point, where the dabs may be extremely thin in places and anything up to perhaps 2mm in others there is no definitive answer to this question. Natural wastage also needs to be taken into account – small remains of the glue on the tools, excess glue wiped away, etc. - and there’s no set figure that can really be used for this. Based on an average Promacol®-K84/500 glue thickness of 1.5mm for each 100mm diameter dab, this gives a result of approximately 100 boards, each with 8 fixing points, or 800 individual dabs per 15kg tub. The Promatect®-H boards are supplied in 2500x1250mm format, so the total surface area being treated will need to be worked out and divided by the board size, for the number of boards/dabs required. This only applies to concrete wall and soffit upgrades; the dabs aren’t used in concrete column and beam upgrades. We would suggest starting the installation with fewer tubs than you think will be required and base your final purchase quantity on usage figures from the project as it progresses.
