Where metal sprinkler pipes pass through the SUPALUX® ceiling boards, the boards should be cut to a tight fit around the pipes and sealed with FSi Promat Pyrocoustic^® Sealant. Above the ceiling, the pipes should be wrapped in 40mm thick x 40kg/m³ stone wool insulation for a 500mm length above the ceiling. This is to help mitigate the loss of fire insulation at these points. It may be that, dependent on the location and quantity of these pipe penetrations, the stone wool wrapping can be omitted, however this should be discussed with a project fire engineer or consultant.
