Etex Building Performance Limited's passive fire protection products and associated components, when supplied by our Company and designed and installed in accordance with the conditions and procedures in the Promat Fire Protection Handbook, Promat technical literature, specification documents, associated CAD drawings and any specific technical recommendations including Promat Project Packs (where applicable), shall be durable and free from defects due to faulty manufacturing or factory workmanship.

We would recommend that Promat VERMICULUX®-S should be installed by a 3rd party accredited fire protection contractor, certified as competent to install products in the specific fire protection application.

The assumed intended working life of Promat VERMICULUX®-S is 25 years but will be dependent on the application and the prevailing environment in which the products are installed (as per the definitions below from the Promat VERMICULUX®-S ETA 19/0434).

Planned maintenance

Annual documented inspections should be carried out as part of the normal maintenance plan for the building and any damaged boards should be replaced and fixed in the same way as in the original specification.

NOTE: THIS IS A STATEMENT ON THE INTENDED WORKING LIFE OF Promat VERMICULUX®-S IT IS NOT A WARRANTY.

Promat VERMICULUX®-S can be used in external applications for up to 6 months before the building is made weathertight. This is subject to the following conditions being adhered to:

a)             The board should not be subject to water run-off from slabs or other parts of the building

b)             The board should not be in contact with standing water

c)             Where the board is located on the perimeter of the building and sits proud of the building line, exposed surfaces should be given additional weather protection using a breather membrane
